APPS 2.04.02 Student Selection

The Department of Accounting follows the student selection-related policies and procedures of the University and the McCoy College of Business Administration. Additionally, the Department of Accounting Graduate Admissions Committee reviews applications, and with the Department of Accounting Chair (the Chair), selects students for the Department’s graduate program(s). The goal of the committee is to admit students with high potential for successful professional careers. 

Appointed by the Chair, the committee considers the contents of the application packets with particular emphasis on grades in upper-level accounting courses, essays, and letters of recommendation. Each member of the committee independently rates each applicant’s package and makes a recommendation for or against the applicant’s acceptance into the graduate program. The Chair makes the final decision on acceptance. 


This APPS has been approved by the reviewers listed below and represents the Accounting Department policy and procedure from the date of the document until superseded.
