NEW FOR '22!
The Accounting Fall Fest is a new event debuting August 25, 2022. Accounting Majors will have the opportunity to learn about the department and our student organizations, meet faculty and recruiting firms, get advice from career services, and much more, all while being surrounded by a carnival like atmosphere! Students will also have the chance to win a limited edition t-shirt.
For Mock Interviews, Accounting students first answer curated questions in a pre-recorded video, then have that video reviewed by recruiters from CPA firms. Students are given invaluable feedback in an attempt to bolster their skills going into internships and full-time offers. For the second part, students are interviewed and given individual real-time feedback from a firm recruiter.
Meet the Firms allows Accounting students the opportunity to speak with recruiters from global firms in the profession, learn about those firms who hire Bobcats, and gain valuable knowledge for their career path ahead.
NEW FOR '23
The spring semester will open January 19, 2023, with a brand new event, the Department of Accounting Spring Cook-In! Students will be invited to a cookout themed event in the Grand Ballroom (that's why it's cook-in and not cookout!) where they can learn about the department, the student organizations, internships, courses, and the MAcy, as well as meet faculty and engage with recruiters who sponsor the program.
The final event of the academic year is a catered banquet celebrating the achievements of accounting students, highlighting those students who received scholarships, spotlight on faculty excellence and a thank-you to the sponsoring firms which make a lot of what we do possible.
In the spring semester, Spring Showcases occurs over four nights in January and February, allowing Accounting students the chance to meet with 24 sponsoring firms, from Big 4 (Global 6) to local. The firms engage students with presentations about their strategy, culture, and goals. Attendees then network for the remainder of the evening.
