BBA in Accounting

The Bachelor's in Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting degree at Texas State allows students to set a foundation for almost any career in business. Students learn current accounting and management theories, including their practical applications, and how to manage ethical situations in their professional careers. Knowledge gained in the program allows for careers in business and industry, government, non-profit, and education.


Master of Accountancy (MAcy)

The Master of Accountancy, or MAcy, program produces accounting students broadly educated in business fundamentals, research methodology, accounting concepts and accounting practices. Students explore the social and environmental effects of accounting on those who rely on it for decision making. A unique aspect of the program is its emphasis on the ethical implications of accounting, auditing, and financial reporting. The program also provides students with the necessary coursework to pursue licensure as a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA). Applicants with undergraduate degrees in disciplines other than accounting—or from non-AACSB accredited institutions—may need to complete additional foundational coursework in accounting prior to admission.

M.S. in Accounting and Information Technology

The Master of Science in Accounting and Information Technology (MSAIT) program features an interdisciplinary curriculum that blends core courses in accounting and information technology, a range of electives, and a designated accounting research elective. The program is designed to equip students with the ability to merge accounting with IT, preparing them for leadership roles in an increasingly integrated field. The program also provides students with the necessary coursework to pursue licensure as a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA). Applicants with undergraduate degrees in disciplines other than accounting—or from non-AACSB accredited institutions—may need to complete additional foundational coursework in accounting prior to admission.
