APPS 2.04.02 Student Selection

The Department of Accounting follows the student selection-related policies and procedures of the University and the McCoy College of Business. Additionally, the MAcy Committee and the Department of Accounting Chair reviews applications and selects students for the Department’s graduate program. The goal of the committee is to admit students with high potential for successful professional careers. 

Appointed by the Chair, the MAcy committee considers the contents of the application packets with particular emphasis on grades in upper-level accounting courses, essays, and letters of recommendation. Each member of the committee independently rates each applicant’s package and makes a recommendation for or against the applicant’s acceptance into the graduate program. The MAcy Program Director makes the final decision on acceptance.
