- PURPOSE
The Department follows the university and college policies and procedures except as noted below:
Students enrolled in accounting graduate programs are required to maintain a minimum of a 3.0 GPA; however, two C or lower grades are permitted. A third C or lower grade will cause the student to be dropped from the program. Repeating a course and earning a higher grade does not remove the original grade from the above calculation.
To successfully complete the Masters in Accountancy or Masters in Accounting and Information Technology program, students must prepare and submit a comprehensive portfolio that documents the following competencies developed throughout the program:
- The application of analytical and critical thinking skills that apply accounting knowledge.
- The use of information technology, data analytics, and other analytical methods to evaluate accounting issues, form judgments, and effectively communicate findings.
- The ability to conceptualize complex issues into a coherent, informative, and persuasive written or oral statement.
The portfolio is evaluated in its entirety and no partial credit is given. Detailed instructions and requirements for completing the portfolio are available on the MAcy/MSAIT Canvas site. Students who do not successfully complete the portfolio within the required timeline will be dismissed from the program.
